MarcEdit 7.5/MarcEdit Mac 3.5 is officially out of beta. It has been my primary version of MarcEdit for about 6 months and is where all new development has taken place since Dec. 2020. Because there are significant changes (including framework supported) – MarcEdit 7.5/3.5 are not in-place upgrades. Previous versions of MarcEdit can be installed along side of this version with a goal of simplifying the transition and allow users to test new workflows/features before fully moving to the next version. As of this point, MarcEdit 7.5/3.5 supports all features of the previous 7.3.x build.
The change has been reflected on the main downloads page. Additionally, I’ve posted a planned final update of 7.3.x/3.2.x. This corrected a few bugs fixes, added a couple small features – but most importantly – added a note to the main window letting users know that the development on this branch has ended. One windows systems, this will look like this:
Since older versions and the new version can be installed at the same time – MarcEdit 7.2/3.2 will not prompt for updates to the 7.5/3.5 branches beyond the messaging showing up in the main window.
