Officially released last week, OSU has made available a nifty new digital collection called the OSU Herbarium Type Specimens. This collection was done in collaboration with the Herbarium library on campus — and essentially takes photographed images of original specimens and matches them with the original descriptions of the specimens. It required working with a lot of publishers to get permission and a lot of student hours to “shoot” the photography, but in the end, I think its turned out fairly well.
